As I like to do, I love to learn the history of food and share that history with my readers. I always thought the churro came from Mexico. It would appear that the CHURRO came from Spain. There is even one camp that says Spain got it from Chinese pastry. There is some similarities between the two. Bottom line is they are both fried dough. YUM!

The churros have only 6 ingredients. So this would seem to be a simple recipe but it is very sensitive. It is kind of fascinating how the churros come together. Combine the water, sugar, salt and oil in a pot and bring to a boil. Next, add the flour and mix until a ball is formed. The dough is cooled and eventually squeezed into a the churro shape through a pastry bag.
